Background
With plans for returning to campus still uncertain and many large in-person events diminished, this University shifted all orientation programming to a virtual format. They needed a way to incentivize students to attend virtual orientation programming, while still building community and pumping up school spirit in anticipation of the fall semester starting.

Only a few years removed from elevating from "College" to "University" status, this University was looking to promote its increased athletics prominence. They engaged us to help with their annual on-campus event for accepted students in the spring.

Background
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March of 2020, the College's commencement ceremony plans were immediately put in jeopardy. Graduation is an important milestone in any student's life, but particularly significant for this college, which features a large population of first-generation college students.

Innovative university in a classic New England college town setting, Student Life & AthleticsDepartments
Background
With the University’s D-III hockey team climbing the national rankings, the Athletics Department was looking for a unique way to draw more students to the games to support the team. Student Life saw this as an additional opportunity to build community on campus and engaged Doubletake to help achieve both missions. Student Life came up with the fantastic idea to screen the movie, “The Mighty Ducks,” in the hockey arena after a game, and invite students and members of the surrounding community to receive some branded swag on theme.
The Mission
- Attract more fans, specifically students, to hockey games
- Bring students together in support of their school
Doubletake’s Solution
- Design a “Mighty Panthers” logo using the University’s mascot as a play on the “Mighty Ducks” movie logo
- Produce hockey pucks branded with the “Mighty Panthers” logo for Student Life to hand out to students upon arrival at the hockey game the night of the movie
- Produce hockey-style lace hoodies branded with the “Mighty Panthers” logo – these were distributed between periods of the game to students who had a hockey puck (eliminating no-shows and preventing anyone from skipping the game and just coming for the hoodie and movie)
Results
- Significant boost in student attendance on game night
- Additional interest in hoodies from local community members
- A big win to achieve missions of both Athletics and Student Life Departments
- Fun atmosphere to support the hockey team and catch a fun, nostalgic movie!
